Crucifixion
Crucifixions are striking ties full of intense imagery. In this class, Ztella walks participants through how to construct this modular and surprisingly sustainable harness and use it for maximum aesthetic effect and connective play.
By shifting support onto the chest rather than the arms, the crucifixion harness can reduce nerve-related risks and be gentler on the shoulders. People who often struggle with other harnesses may find that crucifixion makes it possible to go into suspension and stay there for longer.
Building on these mechanics, the class explores how to create impactful shapes and, depending on the workshop's duration, experiment with partial and full suspensions. Longer formats also include variations on crucifixions and techniques for tying the upper body to bamboos.
Prerequisites
Both tying partners must have experience with suspension. Riggers must have experience with tying suspension-safe harnesses and know how to safely secure uplines. People being tied should understand how to recognise nerve and circulatory issues and communicate these with their riggers.
